皆さんは小学生の頃、なんで物差しは竹製なのか？
と思われた事無いでしょうか？
理由としましては、
「物は温度や湿度等で少なからず伸縮したり歪んだりしますが、竹はその影響を1番受けにくいから」
と昔、聞いた事があります。
そんなこんなで画材紹介第3回はこちら
直線引いたり曲線引いたりするヤツです。
3回目にして画材じゃなくなりましたが大目に見て下さい。
「定規」や「物差し」と呼ばれる事の多いこの板ですが、それぞれ定義があります。
「定規」は線を引く時に使う物で、
「物差し」は長さを測る時に使う物。
つまりは、目盛りの有無ですね。有る物はどっちとも呼べて、無い物は定規としか呼べません。
+αな仕様としましては、金属製のエッジが付いていてカッターを使用しても傷が付かない物や、
絵の具等で直線を引く際に使用するスライダーと言うガラス棒を滑らせる溝のある物等があります。
曲線を引く定規の代表、雲形定規です。
とても投げたく・・・全て曲線で出来ていて、これを使えばどんな曲線でも引く事が出来ると言われています。
（※ただし練習が必要です）
ここで小ネタを1つ
皆さんは正多角形を描こうとして
「分度器も無ければ、内角が何度かも分からない」
と言った経験無いでしょうか？
今回紹介するのは、「定規とコンパスで正多角形を描こう」です。
手順1.直線を1本引く
手順2.その線を直径にした円を描く
手順3.線の両端（赤点）から、線を半径にした円を描く
手順4.初めに書いた線を作りたい多角形数で分割する（7角形なら7等分、12角形なら12等分）
手順5.3で作った円の交差点（赤点）から、4で作った分割点へ1つ飛ばしで線を引く
手順6.分割点を越えた先の円との交差点（緑点）同士を線で繋ぐ
正多角形の出来上がり
この方法なら、比較的簡単に多角形や星形も作れると思いますので、お試しあれ。
